I have a place to live…

January 21st, 2009 at 22:18:10 by wah

…in Japan! A most delightful little email came in just a few hours ago, and in it lied the details of where I will be living between April and August of this year… IN JAPAN. It’s a chill little apartment house just north of Tokyo. The rooms are fully furnished and come with a bed, a desk, shelves, a mini-fridge, a TV and free internet access. I did rank a dorm highly in my housing choices, but in retrospect I’m a lot happier with this arrangement. Why? I get a TV! Now I can fulfill my dream of watching shitty Japanese variety shows, and I’ll be able to catch the premier of Hayate no Gotoku season 2 on Japanese TV, in Japan.

Man, it’s gonna get pretty Wapanese up in this blog in a few months, so watch out.

I wish. My savings are pretty shitty, especially considering I was unable to swing a job. So buy through my affiliates! Give me money!

    >>What city is it in?

I’ll be in Warabi, which is north of Tokyo.

    >>anyway, welcome to Japan!

    Thanks :)

Looks like you don’t even have to change trains to get to Akihabara :)

  12. wildarmsheero Says:

Sweet, an hour train ride to Akiba doesn’t seem too bad at all.

  13. 通りすがり Says:

Warabi! (strictly speaking, it’s Saitama prefecture. yes, the stage of Lucky Star)
It’s a great place for otaku life. Only 30 min from Akibahara.
I’m worry about your wallet. www

  14. wildarmsheero Says:

Man, I worry about my wallet too. I already have a shopping list! I gotta fill out by Chocotto Sister DVD collection, buy some figures and pick up some manga and doujinshi. That’s like… a billion dollars right there, especially with this crappy exchange rate!

  15. crownhalfmoonjesus Says:

Don’t you have to pay for most of the channels that anime airs on, since most of them are cable?

Then again, Hayate is a ‘kid’s show’, so maybe not.

  16. Rek Says:

    Congrats on the exchange!

  17. wildarmsheero Says:

Hayate’s on TV Tokyo. Or at least series one was, I assume series two will be as well.

  18. 3x as random Says:

Start selling off stuff you don’t want? Doubt there is any though…

  19. mt-i Says:

Yeah, it’s likely Hayate 2 will be in the same TV Tokyo spot as Hayate 1 and ZKC: 10am on Sunday (or 34:00 on Saturday, depending on your perspective). Congrats on the move! Indeed, Warabi is served by the Touhouku honsen, straight to Ueno, Tokyo *and* Akiba :-).

  20. Aerojohn Says:

I’m happy for you and jealous at the same time.

  21. Shinikenshi Says:

Lulztastic. You should submit your doujin for C76. If you hurry you will make the deadline. And lol Warabi…far town is far. Enjoy the monotony of the train rides. When I’m in town for the doujin buying runs, we oughta hang out and stuff.

  22. wildarmsheero Says:

I don’t own a car– I’m used to long, boring train rides. My commute to work this summer was 45 minutes both ways.
