Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu English Trailer

It can be found on the main page of the site, or directly on Revver. My thoughts on the English dub? Quite bad. To be fair, I don’t watch English dubs so I don’t know how bad it is on the whole English-dub-scale. Whoever does Haruhi kind of has the same quality as Aya but at the same time kind of doesn’t, and I’m convinced no American person can emulate Kyon’s voice in English. Same for Mikuru. Yuki didn’t talk, which isn’t surprising. Itsuki didn’t talk either, which is surprising.
But yeah, you dub people have a ball.

The dubbing is bad. The trailer is bad. They should just pay some hardcore AMV makers instead.

I don’t think the actual cutting of the trailer is that bad. It works fairly decently, but it’s not spectacular.

Meh… I never like the trailers that are made for the US anyway. But the dub doesn’t sound bad at all. lol at LianYL’s comment though. :3

I remember ADV making a fairly awesome Evangelion trailer a long while back, matched to Ode to Joy. But that was a one off. Oh wait, I also remember Bandai’s Cowboy Bebop trailer being awesome enough to make me check out the series.
As far as the quality of the English dub goes, I don’t mind either way. I won’t be watching it in English anyway. I just thought it was “bad” initially given I’m used to the Japanese voices.
LianYL’s comment actually gave me a wacky idea. If I have time, I’d like to cut together a Haruhi promo of my own. I think I can do it.

Haruhi’s voice is left to be desired, but i dont mind it all, and the voice of Mikuru and that Mikuru Beam scene was OK, sounds alike, Yuki , Kyon ,Itsuki sounds fair, (heard them on AnimeTv review once) they’re all about OK, but HAruhi , Man!! what happened, … but never mind already saved up money for the DVD, and the package with it that I’m already, drooling about :))

My experience with dubs put this right in the fucking middle of the scale. There are worse, and there are better. Also, I saw an awesome trailer for some anime at NYCC. What was weird was A. the trailer was to the requiem for a dream (American movie) theme and B. It said that the anime was called sunshine, but I can’t find anything about it, so I guess it was just some strange amv.
