Doutei’s sub of Kodomo no Jikan: Kuro-chan and Shiro-chan is really good
Posted On January 27, 2009
For what it’s worth, I’m going to give a little shout-out to Kokujin for putting out a more or less exceptional sub of the latest entry into the Kodomo No Jikan anime arsenal: Kuro-chan and Shiro-chan. It’s completely soft-subbed, has a nice re-write that reads like conversational English, and near as I can tell the translation is fairly accurate. I do have issues with the some of the slang words used, and I think the typesetting could use a bit of work, but on the whole this is the best fansub I’ve watched since ADTRW put out the first episode of Gurren Lagann.
So, watch it.

Doutei…
fan-sub name is funny. LOL
Well, that is what Kagami loves to call Aoki…
D: -checks for manga update- I read this episode months ago, but it was still great in color :3
Am I the only one who notices how awful this show is? Mind you, this comes from a fan of the comic.
The only things I can really enjoy are the catchy-ass songs and Shiro and Kuro’s respective characters having the only decent actors in this show.
I don’t really see what’s wrong with the Kojika anime, aside from the editing they had to do for the TV airing (which was then of course cleaned up for DVD.) I actually think it’s way better than the comic, in some respects.
To each his own, though.
Soooo, if this is the best sub you’ve seen since april ’07, is it safe to assume that your japanese is good enough to watch all your anime unsubbed? I’m not usually picky about subs I watch, but that was pretty bad… Well, it’s still good enough to watch, so I guess that’s okay. And it’s free, so I shouldn’t really complain.
I watch tons of shitty/decent/almost good subs.
