I just noticed this, but the background people kinda are like paper mache men. You should do a strip where Rets and or Tina get captured by Paper mache men and they force Rets to watch Gundam 00 in a chair like that one in clockwork orange. Paper mache men are evil!

Hey moonspeaker - feel free to send me an email at any time, or if you have AIM, if you could post your screen name we could just talk that way.

wah: what kind of bizarro-supermarket shelves arm and hammer right below their salad dressing?? I think Rets needs some more training.

BrendantheJedi:

Oh wow...nice analysis... And yeah, I realize now that probably wasn't a really good comparison, but the main point I was trying to get across was how what constituted a 'cool' character has changed over time in weird ways... Though I know I didn't necessarily do a good job of that....

@Nerf:

Hahahaha, that was great...

@Wildarmsheero:

I think I'll try and send him a message then.

>>Soma and Nena are not loli no matter what you or anybody on the internets says,

More talking about Soma, since she has DFC and has that touching moment in 25 with Sergi, the where she stops pursing Halle/Alle to go save him and she tells him that if he died she'd be all alone. That really was Moe, considering she hadn't shown any emotion for the entire series, except delight at the power of the GN-X or determination at beating the Kyrios.

Well Sestuna is actually a more complex character than Gato in many ways. Gato's motivations are kinda easy track: Loyalty to the cause of Gihren Zabi, honor as a soldier, guilt of leaving the battle of A Bou a Qu early. The only curveball thrown is the whole relationship with Nina Purpleton, which was thrown in for not apparent reason at the end. As much as I like Gato and 0083, Gato was a somewhat shallow character. Sestuna on the other hand, actually is influenced by multiple factors. On one hand he has his past: the fact that he killed his parents, his animosity towards Ali, he lack of belief in god. Then, on the other hand, you have his idolization of the Gundam and his belief in the ideals Celestial Beings. Gato himself is a character who is almost never challenged in his beliefs, or at least not by much, I mean the confortaion inside the colony is close, but other than that he's a cheap version of CCA Char without the whole Newtype revolution thing. Setsuna, however, has his questional beliefs question multiple times, including his decision to attack the Trinitys when their definition of "Armed Intervention" differs with his, or how he reacted when his Gundam was shut down, and even all of his conversations in episode 25 with Alejandro and Graham. I mean, maybe in a simplistic sense, "Gato is cooler", but as a character, Sestuna is a deeper.

Of course, I'm not comparing 00 to MSG or Zeta, which features other complex characters (what makes Ramba Ral or novel Amuro or Palptamis Scrirooco tick, is more or less the same as level of depth as our friend Soran Ibriham). I'm just taking fault with your example. Stardust Memory was a fine enough show, but it suffered from a bunch problems, enough that I say that 00 is a far better show.

Hahahaha

Oh, forgot

>>And I’d buy that Arcana doujinshi and Rec mangas in a heartbeat if he doesn’t mind shipping to the East Coast….. I just need to set up a paypal account though with my debit card first…

K lives on the East Coast so I'm sure it'll be fine.
