Iron Man is perhaps the best of the recent Marvel fair, being superior than both the craptacular Spider Man 3 and the Shitastic 4 2. The humor in it is generally funny, playing on the fact that Tony Stark is Rich, Drunk bastard. Where the movie fails is in pacing, having the longest hero setup in recent memory, and in the amount of action. If you’re patient (especially for the after credit scene) I think you’ll enjoy it.

My opinion of Indy 4 is pretty similar to Wildarms’: I enjoyed and thought it captured the feel of the old films, unlike most of Star Wars prequels (thus spuring sayings such as “Lucas, raping your childhood one franchise at a time”). I also agree that the movies is at least better than Temple of Doom. However, I’m not sure how to place it in relation to Raiders and the Last Crusade.

Yes, I’m flat broke and spending my last 12 bucks on a movie. IT HAS TO BE GOOD DAMNIT ><

But yeah, I do want to watch Indy now, just to relive childhoods of going through two tapes cos I kept rewatching them.

I thought it didn’t feel much like a Indy film, actually. Good acting by the new kid and Ford, but it didn’t grab me. Decent action flick, but nothing more.

It was a good film, but after I left the theater, I started thinking about Raiders and Last Crusade, and damn. They just don’t make them the same anymore.

It certainly felt conclusive, and they did kind of hint at a passing of the torch, but they kind of don’t at the same time. If they do make more, though, I’d welcome them so long as they’re still awesome. Movies like Indiana Jones are the only kinds I can stand anymore since they’re 100% concerned with being AWESOME and nothing else.

So, did the movie feel like a passing-of-the-torch from senior indiana to junior “indiana?”

One fear I have is that this movie is just one big commercial for the change of main character in the future series.
