I suppose people who haven't watched both series wouldn't get the joke, and perhaps people who only passively watch wouldn't either, but for those who actually follow such things, it's a nice treat. The first Shana series was good, but this one has been so bad it's painful, I dropped it long ago. I do really like Clannad though, so I can't say it's all bad, they make a great release. And you never know, I'm not sure how Eclipse works, but maybe they have different teams for different shows?
