Thank you finally someone who realizes this latest Gundam is an abomination! I miss the UC series, There’s no character development like Camille or Amuro in the latest gundam series its just …garbage. The title should be changed to Gundam 00mg were sorry.

Jesus fucking christ, man. Face it. The UC is DEAD. It’s fucking boring now. Every year they gotta retcon the whole goddamn war just to add in more and more bullshit. In the original series, there were only supposed to be like, 100 or so MS across the entire earthsphere. Now, you have these obscure aces like Johnny Ridden that only appear in MSV content downing at least 100 on their own. We’ve pretty much seen how the OYW has played out from every goddamn angle possible, and unless you want something like an animated Crossbone or a sequel to V, there’s not too fucking much else they can do with it. They’re making Unicorn for the UC fags like you. Go read that and get over yourself. 00 is a fine series on its own and a refreshing change of pace from SEED-D in that it actually has a story that wasn’t pieced together from second rate fanwank. If you could pull your head out of your ass and actually watched the show for it’s plot you’d see it’s FAR superior to the shit they tried to pull with, say, early ZZ Gundam. Fuck, MSG’s plot was basically a generic SR monster-of-the-week affair except with more angst. Actually, it’s probably better for you to stop waching the new Gundam series, so we won’t have to hear your ass bitch about the stupidest shit over and over again any time they release something that’s not the same, tired storyline you’ve grown familar with.

The show is still pretty early.

But right now for me… It is the most boring action shows I’ve ever seen
When it’s the entire Gundam team vs. a group of easily prepared dead guys, I just want to skip the whole thing.

They say that this is like the Wing Series, but at least in Wing they started off solo from each other.

I feel like booing the 00’s Gundam team most the time.

I agree with the Haro statement. Actually, that’s probably one of the reasons for me to watch Gundam 00. Lockon’s Haro is probably on the level of Uso Ebbing’s Haro for being able to control aspects of the Gundam Dynames, though I wonder if there’s more to that Haro.

Also, I didn’t realize that 2009 will be Gundam’s 30th Anniversary, though I should’ve realized it. If they decide to animate Crossbone Gundam, then that would completely be kickass. Of course, I wouldn’t mind it if they animated Gundam Unicorn…or turned F-91 into a full series…

I love Tina. And well, I love Rets but not in the way I love Tina. Let’s say he makes me laugh while Tina makes me feel like if I was Rett watching Tina. Uhm. Does it makes sense? I guess it doesnt… anyway he is too damn blind to see he has this so cute chick around him xD But I wouldnt be surprised if someday we find out she is his sister u.u

Hmm, the plot is actually building up again IMO in Gundam 00. Sure, the char designs are weird, but creativity is always what Sunrise seeks, I hope. UC is still awesome though :D

UC is not crap… if you say it is you deserver to be shot, 3 times over.

I hope they make stuff like Crossbone for 2009 (big bang 30th!), I mean Turn A was pretty good for the 20th bang. Go Tomino O.o

Some pretty interesting ideas in 00 though, GN particles and all that sheet…

Also, THE HARO ACTUALLY HAS SOME FBLOODY USE XD

They’re not crap at all, especially when they practically invented the real-robot genre. However, I am tired of hearing about ripoffs in Gundam 00. There’s really not much being ripped off. Only thing that really needs to happen is good competition for Celestial Being. In episode 6, it seems that Ali is doing a good job of doing just that.

Now…if you say ripoff and Seed, Destiny, or CE…that’s another case. After all, why is CE called CE? Because it Copies Everything.

I’ve had it up to here (points really high) with all you “Only the UC Gundams are good” and “They ripped off UC”. Who the fuck cares?!! So what if they ripped them off? It’s THEIR anime, so they can ripp off anything they want to. And just cause it copies stuff from old shows, does not make the old shows better. The original gundam is BORING AS HELL. Sure, it was epic like…..20 years ago….but it’s crap now

Meh, I think everyone’s being a bit harsh. For a first episode, at least it was entertaining. Compare Gundam 00’s first episode to Gundam Seed and Destiny. Seed’s first episodes were pretty bad, since they actually use the Gundam in the following episode. Gundam 00’s first episode was pretty much action. Comparing Gundam 00 to UC…it does better then some series…like ZZ Gundam and V Gundam. Honestly, I like ZZ Gundam just because it’s UC and shows the ZZ Gundam early and I like V Gundam if only for the V2 Assault Buster. However, their first episodes sucked. ZZ Gundam’s first episode was a recap… Disappointing for me after waiting a few hours of torrenting it. V Gundam’s first episode was actually episode 4. Not much to say about that.

The plot that they laid out does seem like they are trying to be Seed’s TSA at first, but it seems to differ. I think it deserves a chance, though they need to start building character a little better. At least the mech designs are awesome. I think the only ripoff would be the Tieren, but that’s it really. The Enact and Union Flag have already become one of my favorite MP MS designs. As for the Gundams, Gundam Dynames has almost completely replaced the GM Sniper II Custom as one of my favorites and Exia just flatout kicks ass with its swords. Can’t wait to see what Avalanche Exia can do. On the subject of the GN Particles, yes, it’s true it’s not original and a little broken. However, I like the presentation of the GN Particles compared to Minovsky Particles and N Jammers. Also, in terms of animation and such, I haven’t seen any real stock footaging yet and the sound of each Gundam’s Beam Guns are different as far as I can tell.

Of course, I’d also like it if Sunrise would get off their ass and actually animate some good UC mangas…like Crossbone Gundam…or maybe Gundam Unicorn… Hell, even Gundam Sentinel. That would be awesome.

I agree. I saw one episode of Gundam 00, and I instantly deleted it and looked for my 08th MS stuff. It went crazy with G Gundam, which to me defeated the reason for Gundams and made it some Street Fighter spinoff, then Wing established the suckiness in terms of overall plot and the lack of Chars and Brights. Seed attempted, but failed horribly when they introduced Freedom and Justice, we got a hint of the old series with the OVA Stargazer (Zaku vs. Tank? O.o;; Zaku vs. Ball XD ) but Destiny was epic fail past Episode 28 (When the Orb Colonel died).

I absolutely understand how that feels. Even thor Sunrise was pretty much building in the circle of UC, sometimes it gets boring but it stays on the track. Gundam G,W,X,Turn A are ok, if u look at them as side-dish. When Seed was made, it was at the limit, cuz its a remake of Original one. then with the bullcrap of Destiny, ripping of things from all the old series, put them in messy condition…. and when i c lil kids love it…….my mind had a heart attack. After Destiny, u have Code Geass(yea, not gundam but hey, its sunrise) i felt that sunrise was trying to pull a new legend like Gundam. and we all saw the failure of the 2nd half if the anime. NOW, 00, another totally ripping of from old gundam series, characters with Loveless style…. i knew sunrise sold their souls to doujins and money…….just look at the mech design…… UC is sealed as legend……………. I am in an awkward position. While I completely agree with your appraisal of the series so far (in fact my own might actually be harsher), it’s still Gundam and thus I find myself compelled to watch it in spite of its mind numbing flaws. I mean, it couldn’t be worse than Wing or Destiny, right?

It’s a shame that you aren’t going to watch it anymore. Frankly, I think 00 is looking pretty good so far.

I really don’t get what everyone’s gripe with the OP is, but whatever.

Some of the character designs used to bug me, but they didn’t bug me so much when I realized just how FUCKING AWESOME the characters actually are (Lockon FTW).

There is, admitedly, a lot of boring dialogue, but there was also enough of Gundam Exia kicking an insurmountable amount of ass to offset that.

If you don’t want to watch it, then far be it from me to try to change your mind. It’s just that I think you should wait a little longer than five episodes before you pass judgement on it.

Hey, your decision. Still, I would have given it at least until episode 10 before judging it. Look back at UC 0079. The first parts of the series were boring as shit. I don’t think it got good till Ramba Ral or Odessa.

Good Comic, however you’re being far too judgmental from just 5 episodes.
The mecha designs in 00 are amazing.
They’re working up the plot currently, and while I agree there are a lot of shitty and repeated lines, just let it continue and eventually they’ll begin working in character details and moving a rather good plot forward.
