Gundam 00 announced, I cry tears of blood
Posted On June 2, 2007
When I heard the name Mobile Suit Gundam 00 I immediately assumed it’d be some awesome, super cool prequel to the original, manly and epic Kidou Senshi Gandamu. Wow, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I mean, I knew we’d have the Loveless person on character design, so the pretty boys aren’t too much of a surprise. It’s the story summary that really puts me off. It basically sounds like the same kind of crap that’s been plaguing Gundam for the past 10 years. I mean, I like the anti-war message but by Seed they’re shoving down your fucking throat in the most pussy way ever. I may enjoy this on the same level I enjoy Seed, but I doubt it’ll provide the kind of manly epicness that the original shows had. Sigh.

Kouga Yun character designs are wonderful.
Well there is one way they could do this right. Make the organization who are pushing this Peacecraft type BS look totally hypocritcal and corrupt. Still, this is starting to look an awful lot like Seed and *gag* Destiny.
Still, have even remotely announced who the hell is doing the mecha designs? It doesn”t look like Okawara’s work. Is it Katoki?
Give them some breathing room. Turn-A was a good show – other AU series can be, granted that most of them are not.
Yun Kouga is a great character designer and if prettyboys and homoerotic subtext work for the show, good. If not, no great loss. Anonymous is content to wait and see.
I like the mecha designs. The characters not so much, but hey, I’m probably not going to watch it anyways.
I’m liking the look of it already. Character designs look much better than Seed/Destinys, and the (soon-to-be-confirmed) rumors are that the director will be Seiji Mizushima. And you know, he did FMA, so that’s a good sign.
I actually like the Seed designs. For the girls anyway. These look ok, but I just hate pretty boys. I wish more Gundam series looked more like the originals now a days. Yaz isn’t getting any younger ;__;
“And you know, he did FMA, so that’s a good sign.”
FMA didn’t really have anything in the way of directorial merit. At least in my eyes. Then again I think the only good directors are the likes of Hideaki Anno and Akiyuki Shinbo.
>And you know, he did FMA, so that’s a good sign.
More like good sign for the first 30 episodes and the rest will suffer of dubious quality, mirite? Still, I’m not complaining about the designs but I also agree with wildarmsheero in the story department.

Hey it’s better than we can count Fukuda on, mirite?
